DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
INTERNSHIP GUIDE
Students must carefully read the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture Internship Guidelines before applying for internships.
Points to consider:
- To be eligible for the internship under the course code EEM-309, titled Professional Practice-1, students must be at least in their second year.
- To be eligible for the internship under the course code EEM-405, titled Professional Practice-2, students must be at least in their third year.
- Both internships must be completed in workplaces, institutions, or laboratories related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- Both internships consist of 30 working days each (for businesses where work is also performed on Saturdays and/or Sundays, the weekly working days of those businesses will be taken into account if this is documented).
- At least one of the two internships must be a field study involving laboratory work, practical applications, or experimental studies related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
- If desired, a maximum of one of the two internships can be done as an office/bureau internship. This type of internship must still be related to Electrical-Electronics Engineering. However, laboratory work, practical applications, or experimental studies are not required in this type of internship.
- The workplace where the internship will take place must have at least one Electrical-Electronics Engineer.
- The internship application process is explained in the Internship Process Flowchart . Students must finalize their internship placements for March, April, and May , and submit the relevant documents to our Faculty by May 31st so that their insurance can be processed.
- The internship report template can be accessed from our faculty's website. At least one page for each day of the internship must be included in the internship logbook. The date of the relevant day should be written at the bottom of each page in the internship logbook.
- Internship logbooks must be written on a computer using MS Word software and submitted bound or spiral-bound on the date announced for each semester.
- During the submission of the internship logbook, a faculty member assigned by the Department Internship Committee may conduct an oral interview with the student. The Department Internship Committee determines whether the student has successfully completed the internship based on the internship logbook and the results of the oral interview.
- Catalog information should not be included in the internship logbook. If catalog information is included, the student will be held accountable for this information during the oral interview.
